I Told My Friends to Leave After Their Daughter’s Tantrum

Adjusting to your friends having kids can be tough, and this woman knows that well. She just wanted to enjoy time with her friends, but she ended up asking them to leave because of their daughter.

I decided to cook food that both kids and adults would like. I made chicken parmesan and chocolate cake for dessert. I thought it was a fun twist on chicken nuggets, which kids usually enjoy.

Mike and Sandra said the dinner was good and ate everything, though they might have just been polite. However, their daughter ate very little, and I’m not even sure she ate anything at all.

A couple of minutes later, I noticed Sandra giving me a dirty look. I asked her if I could help calm her daughter down, even though I’m not great with kids. I didn’t know what else to do. When I asked what was wrong, Sandra just snorted and said, “Don’t you have anything to say to Charlie?”

It took me a few seconds to realize she wanted me to apologize to her daughter because she hadn’t eaten the dinner I made. I thought it might help, so I told her I was sorry she didn’t like my food.

Sandra kept insisting that I should make something different for her daughter, while Mike remained silent, eating his dessert. I stood up and asked Mike if he wanted me to pack up his cake to go because it seemed like the rest of his family wasn’t enjoying themselves at my place. I suggested they should head home so Sandra could find something else for their daughter to eat.

Sandra started to argue that she had expected me to cook and that she wanted a break from the kitchen. I felt like I might say something I’d regret, so I simply told them to leave my house. Mike looked very embarrassed as they left. Since that day, I haven’t spoken to either of them, and now I’m wondering if it was my fault and if I overreacted by kicking them out.
