Born on November 6, 1946, Sally Field overcame the demoralizing comment that she wasn’t “pretty enough” for the movies.

With the TV shows “Gidget” in 1965 and “The Flying Nun” in 1967, she made her Hollywood debut.
Drama was Sally’s escape from her difficult upbringing, which included her parents’ divorce and her stepfather’s severe discipline.

She began acting with “Gidget” after high school, which paved the way for her well-known portrayal as Sister Bertrille.
