When Juliana Farris Mazurkewicz arrived at her daughter’s daycare in Hockley, Texas, she was taken aback by a rather blunt statement on the door.
Parents were not asked to bring in materials or ensure that their kids refrained from talking back in the sign. Rather than that, the sign asked the parents to behave differently.
Juliana totally agreed with the sign, even though some people thought it was insulting. This is what made her take a picture of it and share it on social media.
The text on the sign read:
“You are going to pick up your kid! Put down your phone!
When a child says, “Mommy, mommy, mommy,” we have heard it because the parent is looking at their phone rather than their own child. It is disgusting. Put down your phone!
Juliana told reporters, “I was a little shocked, but I didn’t feel any negativity toward the daycare.” “I am confident that the staff is willing to offend a parent in order to protect the children’s best interests.”
Not everyone who used social media thought the sign was acceptable, as Juliana did.
On social media, someone said, “This is ridiculous.” “Who is to say that a parent of a youngster shouldn’t use their phone? Perhaps they are putting in some work? or experience a crisis or anything else that is private.
