One day, Felix, a single father, was dozing off at home when he heard the sound of a lawnmower. He made the decision to go outside and investigate, wondering who may be cutting their grass at the moment. He was surprised to see it was Mrs. McAllister, the old woman who lived next door.
She wasn’t old enough to be cutting her own yard. Additionally, she was seldom using her cane to walk, so Felix volunteered to assist her. However, he couldn’t help but wonder why she wasn’t receiving assistance from her son, who didn’t see her very often.
Mrs. McAllister was happy to have Felix’s assistance. He had previously supported her when she needed assistance.
Mrs. McAllister invited her neighbor inside and offered him a drink of lemonade as a token of appreciation for his generosity. She encouraged him to wait for her because she had something to give him, as if that wasn’t enough.
